SaveSmile Surgical Mission – Cleft Lip Project in Sudan
In cultures where facial disfigurement is seen as a curse, individuals with cleft lips are subjected to horrific abuse, all the while struggling to not being able to eat or speak properly. IMANA Medical Relief’s 11th Annual SaveSmile Mission to Sudan is all set to provide surgical care to cleft lip patients without access to proper healthcare facilities.
In 10 missions to-date, our volunteer surgical teams have performed 1,538 cleft lip reconstructions, totally free to the patients.
Your support allows us to return year after year to fly those miles and heal smiles, combat stigma and give hope of a normal life to those children/adults who have been ostracized and deprived from social interaction.
