What the future holds

What the future holds

Last year, IMANA received hundreds of applications to its scholarship program. This year we’ve already seen a 12.5% increase, and it’s growing. To allow recommenders more time, we extended the application deadline to March 30. It’s clear that students are lining up for financial support because educational costs continue to soar.

IMANA Opens New Office to Support its Relief Wing

We opened our new office in Fairfax, Virginia, to support IMANA Medical Relief’s growing operations. In addition to IMANA’s headquarters in the midwest region since 1998, the new office space on the east coast doubles the office footprint. It leverages the area’s diverse, robust nonprofit sector and government operations.

Dispensing rational medicines in Gambia

Dispensing rational medicines in Gambia

The Gambia is in the midst of a public health crisis, with a shortage of skilled health workforce and a rapid increase of counterfeit medicines has left the poverty-stricken Gambians with no access to quality medical care.

In recognition of the problems The Gambians are facing, IMANA Medical Relief (IMR) in partnership with The Oasis Initiative organized their first-ever medical mission to the country. Dr. Ghalib Abbasi, Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from Houston traveled with a five-member volunteer team on an IMR sponsored mission — SaveGambia; to the capital city, Banjul from Jan. 24 – Feb. 1, 2020.

Our Hurricane Relief Operations

Our Hurricane Relief Operations

Over the years, IMANA filled gaps for inadequate emergency services with critical hurricane relief work in North America and Asia. Our volunteers provided medical/humanitarian aid, and we airlifted emergency supplies to families impacted by the tropical storms. In addition, IMANA has worked hard to help those affected navigate a complex set of transitions in moving from acute emergency response to recovery in logistically challenging areas through our long-standing trusted relationships with government organizations and local community groups. And most importantly, all this is possible through your generous support.
