ServePakistanIMANA Medical Relief started regular missions to Swat Valley, Pakistan in 2019 to provide free healthcare services to the rural community who are navigating through a challenging health care system that is scarcely resourced. Our volunteers travel to a CDRS operated Mother and Child Clinic in Rahat Kot, Swat and have successfully provided medical care to 20,261 patients till December 2023.
IMANA funds 4 of Al-Mustafa Trust’s health centers in Chaklala, Orangi, Sillanwali, and Umerkot, which have provided free treatment to 362,247 patients since its launch in 2019. In this drought-affected area, where locals suffer from extreme poverty and lack basic health facilities, IMANA has also funded two ambulances, enabling emergency patient evacuation, and a mobile clinic with dispensary services. We also funded the establishment of a specialized dental center for the thalassemia patients in Karachi.
IMANA entered into an ongoing collaborative program with an ophthalmology clinic in 2017, and during 2018 we also made a grant to procure new operating microscope and other equipment. Till December 2023, a total of 311,385 eye exams were conducted and the program has benefited 24,774 patients with free cataract surgeries and 7,631 minor procedures among the poor, rural people of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Kashmir.
