Ryan Harris is a former American football offensive tackle of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft and also played for the Philadelphia Eagles, Houston Texans, Kansas City Chiefs, and Pittsburgh Steelers. With the Broncos, he won Super Bowl 50 over the Carolina Panthers. He played college football at Notre Dame.
Mahmoud Abdul-Raufis a former American professional basketball player. His nine-year NBA career, spent with the Denver Nuggets, Sacramento Kings and Vancouver Grizzlies. He appeared in the Slam Dunk Contest as well as by one of the most accurate free-throw shooting records ever. After his NBA career, he played in multiple leagues around the world.
Ibtihaj Muhammad is an American sabre fencer, and a member of the US fencing team. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, she won her first qualifying round bout, and was defeated in the second round by Cécilia Berder of France. She earned the bronze medal as part of Team USA in the Team Sabre, becoming the first female Muslim-American athlete to earn a medal at the Olympics.
Bilqis Abdul-Qaadir is a female Muslim American collegiate basketball player. She is notable for playing basketball while being completely covered showing no skin, except for her hands, and while wearing a hijab – a head-dress for Muslim women. She had a very successful high school career, scoring over 3000 points, breaking both male and female scoring records in Massachusetts.
Husain Abdullah is a former NFL free safety. He was signed by the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL) as an undrafted free agent in 2008 and also played for the Kansas City Chiefs. He retired from the NFL after seven seasons due to multiple concussions sustained during his career and concern for his health. He is the younger brother of former NFL safety Hamza Abdullah.
Dr. Abdulhakim Mohamed attended the Islamic University of Medina as well as Sana’a University with a Bachelors degree. He got his Masters and PH.D from the States. He has been involved in the Dawa’a around the world. He has held many positions and partnered with many organizations such as North American Imams Federation and nominated their first President.

51st Annual Convention and Scientific Assembly Call for abstracts
Among the activities at the Annuak Convention, the CME Committee
is organizing an advanced learning environment for physicians in
a rapidly evolving healthcare field. The theme of the CME is “Travel Medicine” and a diverse faculty will cover the theme with various engaging topics. Registrants are encouraged to submit the abstracts
on the theme of the CME.
During the Convention we will also have spiritually engaging lectures and prayers by Mufti Hussain Kamani and Sheikh Abdulhakim Muhamed.
Our AED program has entered a new phase, with installations of AEDs in places of worship. So far AEDs have been installed in 3 centers – ICCI Academy, installed on April 17th, Masjid Al-Jumah, installed on April 23rd, and New Hope Church, installed on April 25th. More installations are planned in the coming weeks.
IMANA participated in a meeting arranged by Alliance for an Indivisible America (AIA), a Muslim advocacy and outreach group, on Thursday, April 26 at the Adams Center, Sterling, VA to highlight the plight of Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh and discuss ways of what can be done to help them. It was a well-attended event, the local Congresswoman Barbara Comstock (R-Va) was among those present. Chairman, IMANA Board of Trustees Dr. Khalique Zahir was part of the panel that spoke on the occasion and answered questions. He highlighted the medical relief effort undertaken by IMR, gave a first-person account of what he experienced in the refugee camps, and offered suggestions about the short to medium term needs to help alleviate the suffering there. Relief committee member Dr. Labib Syed and relief coordinator Zahid Mahmood also attended the event.
