Travel to Mongolia With IMANA
27 October 2022
Mongolia is known for its awe-inspiring natural landscapes. The combination of its majestic mountains, vast open fields, and steep sand dunes has earned it the name “land of the blue sky.” Historically, it was the biggest contiguous land empire. It also has a rich heritage and culture that is based on its Buddhist roots.
The Islamic Medical Association of North America (IMANA) believes that the diversity of Mongolia should be celebrated and cherished. The best way to do that is with awareness and education.
We are thus organizing a group that will travel to Mongolia as part of next year’s Continuing Medical Education (CME) convention. By participating, you can appreciate Mongol culture and learn more about the uniqueness of the country.
If you’re interested in being part of this excursion, read on.
What Are IMANA’s CME Efforts?
IMANA provides continuing medical education in compliance with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).
Our programs undergo rigorous multi-level evaluations. They are designed to live up to the high standards of education outlined and adopted by all seven member organizations of ACCME:
- American Hospital Association
- American Board of Medical Specialties
- American Medical Association
- Association for Hospital Medical Education
- Association of American Medical Colleges
- Federation of State Medical Boards of the US Inc
- Council of Medical Specialty Societies
In an effort to enhance the competencies and performance of our members, IMANA’s CME Office identifies educational needs and designs, evaluates, implements, and documents relevant conferences and initiatives.
Educational opportunities are a major part of this effort which include courses, conferences, and workshops.
These help engage learners during interactive learning sessions. They provide the latest information and strategies to develop and enhance professional skills.
Members are thereby equipped with the necessary knowledge, tools, and skills they can use in their clinical practices, teachings, or research so they can flourish in their respective fields.
Members who travel to Mongolia for the 2023 conference are set to enjoy a holistic educational experience as part of our CME efforts.

Why Travel To Mongolia?
Mongolia is nestled to the north of China and south of Russia. The Mongol Empire was the largest in history at one point. The country, therefore, has interesting roots that are fascinating to explore firsthand.
Enjoy an immersive experience by traveling to Mongolia and interacting with the local people and their culture. You can even partake in some of their traditions that may alter your perception of the world.
Genghis Khan may be the most well-known Mongol in the world, however, there are lesser-known aspects of Mongolian culture that are worth noting. For example, the Naadam Festival is a festival of national pride. It celebrates the nomadic culture and this trip gives you the opportunity to experience it for yourself.
Overall, Mongolia is an extremely interesting and evocative destination. It is one of the more unique venues for our 2023 CME Conference.
A visit to Mongolia aligns with our efforts of inculcating a broader understanding of culture to enhance medical practices. This conference is meant to be an unforgettable experience that has the potential to transform how we approach patient care and medical practices.
Note that registration is limited and will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. The last day to register is February 28, 2023. Visit the event page to learn more.
