Day-to-day Itinerary

Saturday July 18th

Day 1: Arrival to sarajevo

You will be met at the airport when you arrive in beautiful Sarajevo and taken to your hotel. Enjoy the surroundings of Sarajevo, a multicultural city with marks of many different cultures that can be seen through the culture, traditions, religions and architecture.

Sunday July 19th

Day 2: CME Meeting, Afternoon Tour in Sarajevo

After the CME meeting in the morning, spend the afternoon on a tour of Sarajevo. Visit Orthodox and Catholic Churches, Mosques, and Synagogues, all of which stand close to each other. Purchase Bosnian traditional crafts in the heart of Sarajevo, known as the old town and called Baščaršija (Bashcharshiya). Drink some fresh water from one of the fountains of the old town and finish the day at the “Inat Kuća” (The House of Spite), a restaurant where some of the tastiest traditional meals are prepared.

Monday July 20th

Day 3: CME Meeting, Afternoon Tour in Sarajevo

After the CME meeting in the morning, spend the afternoon on a tour of Sarajevo. Throughout its history, Bosnia & Herzegovina, situated on the ancient “border” between East and West, has been a melting pot of numerous religions and religious orders. Encounter some of the most beautiful churches, mosques and synagogues in the city, including Sacred Heart Cathedral, Ali Pasa Mosque, Emperor’s Mosque, Ashkenazi Synagogue, and the Church of the Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel. Take in centuries of religious history and significance.

Tuesday July 21st

Day 4: Sarajevo-Dubrovnik via Mostar

Explore Dubrovnik, one of the most prominent tourist destinations in the Mediterranean Sea, via Mostar, the fifth-largest city in the country. Discover the Old Bridge, one of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s most visited landmarks and considered an exemplary piece of Islamic architecture in the Balkans. Your air-conditioned coach will take the beautiful scenic route along the winding coast and stop at several overlooks for amazing panoramic views of the Dalmatian islands, considered by some to be the most beautiful shoreline in Europe. Sit back and enjoy the view.

Wednesday July 22nd

Day 5: Dubrovnik

Each corner of legendary Dubrovnik is its own unique experience. Walk the ancient streets and marvel at the rich architectural ensemble all around you. Visit the main attractions of the Old Town and enjoy a local cafe or do some shopping. Highlights of this memorable excursion through Croatia’s most famous medieval city include the monumental Pile Gate, and the Franciscan Monastery. Head to the top of Srd Mountain on a cable car and experience the breathtaking view.

Thursday July 23rd

Day 6: Dubrovnik-Montenegro-Dubrovnik

Montenegro, meaning “black mountain,” is a petite Balkan country with rugged mountains, medieval villages and a narrow strip of beaches along its Adriatic coastline. It hosts the deepest canyon in Europe, the biggest lake in the Balkans, and the longest underground river. This is the land of the southernmost bay of glacial origin, the cleanest river and one of the last rainforests in Europe, as well as the oldest olive tree, the last pelican resort and the warmest European town during summer.

Friday July 24th

Day 7: Dubrovnik-Zagreb

We will board a short flight from Dubrovnik to Zagreb – the capital and largest city of Croatia with a rich history dating from the Roman times to the present day. Zagreb is the most important transport hub in Croatia where Central Europe, the Mediterranean and Southeast Europe meet. Take in the many interesting sights and happenings such as the two statues of Saint George, and the Gornji Grad and Kaptol, a medieval urban complex of churches, palaces, museums, galleries and government buildings that are popular with tourists.

Saturday July 25th

Day 8: Plitvice National Park

Discover Plitvice Lakes National Park, Croatia’s best-known national park and one of UNESCO’s World Heritage sites. Explore sixteen lakes, divided into two parts – Gornja Jezera (Upper lakes) and Donja Jezera (Lower Lakes), as well as numerous waterfalls and cascades. The park extends over an area of over 74 thousand acres, including forests, water, meadows, pastures, and scattered hamlets. It is a habitat of eleven forest communities with many species of trees, and populated by a variety of animals.

Sunday July 26th

Day 9: Zagreb-USA

You’ll head to Zagreb airport for your flight back to the USA. If you prefer to extend your stay, make arrangements in advance.

No, You will need two rooms.

Can I book multiple rooms side by side so my family can stay close together?

Yes, that can be arranged in advance of the convention.

Will there be Halal food?

All meals will be halal for IMANA guests.

How much will transportation to and from the hotel cost?

Transportation to and from the hotel is included in the package.

How are incidentals handled?

IMANA guests are to cover their own incidental expenses. You will have to put a credit card on file with the hotel.

Is travel insurance recommended?

Yes, due to unforeseen circumstances IMANA recommends getting travel insurance.

Which airports do we fly into and out of while traveling from the USA?

Arrive in Sarajevo on July 18.  Depart from Zagreb on July 26.

Is visa required for this trip?

Visa is not required but the validity of the passport should be more than 6 months.
