“This woman could be our grandmother.”
Meet Marium, who is over 80 years old. She hasn’t been able to take diabetes medications in months because she is now an internally displaced person due to the Yemen conflict. Having no access to medications puts her at risk for a myriad of long-term, possibly disabling health complications. The IMR team gave her a full exam and labs, and placed diabetes medicines in her hands once again — three month’s worth – giving her a detour from the road to poor health she was on.
