The death toll in Florida after Hurricane Michael has reached 26, and thousands are trying to piece their lives back together after their homes were left in shreds following the storm two weeks ago.
IMANA Medical Relief (IMR) needs volunteer physicians from the following specialties: Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, Internal Medicine and Psychiatry. The medical license requirement for Florida has been waived by Gov. Rick Scott.
Our physicians will be working directly with the American Red Cross, who will coordinate schedules. Volunteer assignments are from 3-7 days and IMR team members may opt to fly into Tallahassee or Panama City airports. Lodging for volunteers will be in Red Cross staff shelters – tent set-ups with showers, toilets, and air conditioning.
PAs, NPs and RNs may also register.
