Dear IMANA family, Asalaamu alaikum,

We are happy to celebrate another Eid! As family and friends perform the Hajj, let us be grateful for the many blessings we enjoy in our daily lives and use that as motivation to continue our pursuit of service to others. During this season, we are reminded of the sacrifices of Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH), others that came before us, and many others even now. If you are looking for opportunities to serve through IMR or through committees that keep IMANA’s work on track, feel free to reach out. We want to hear your ideas. It is our honor and privilege at IMANA to serve you. Thank you for all your support and Eid Mubarak!

Announcing the New IMANA Executive Committee

We are pleased to announce the new executive committee, including elected officers. These positions will be in effect through July 2021:

Dr. Nabile Safdar, President

Most recently vice president of the board, Dr. Safdar is a Georgia-based radiologist and serves on numerous national committees, including the American College of Radiology IT and Informatics Committee, and the American Board of Radiology IT Advisory Committee.

Dr. Marium Husain, Vice President

Dr. Husain was most recently treasurer of the board. A former oncology hospitalist and now hematology/oncology fellow in Ohio, she has been a part of IMANA for 9 years, actively involved in the student/resident and education committees.

Dr. Anam Tariq, Treasurer

New to the board, Dr. Tariq’s work has focused on leadership development of Millennials and Generation Z. She is a nephrology fellow in Maryland and is currently IMANA’s student and resident committee chair, facilitating a new platform for mentor-mentee relationships.

Dr. Mohsin Rahman, Secretary

Dr. Rahman is a new board member and active IMR volunteer. A hospitalist and primary care physician based in the Chicagoland area, he went on his first mission to Haiti, followed by two to Bangladesh, and he intends to participate in more IMR missions on a regular basis.

Dr. Imran Qureshi, Past President

Dr. Qureshi, a Chicagoland-based radiologist, was most recently president of IMANA’s board and was instrumental in the change of bylaws for the organization and new strategic plan. He has also been on several IMR missions.
