Islamic Medical Association of North America (IMANA) attended the 16th Annual MAS-ICNA convention, held at the McCormick Place in Chicago, IL, from December 28 – 30, 2017. Many people attended, and enjoyed the time spent with their friends and family members at the convention.

IMANA was delighted to have Dr. Amber Khan speak at our session titled “Your Health is AMANA”, on Friday, December 29. Dr. Khan is the Director of Education U.S. for the organization, HEART Women and Girls. For the past five years, she served as a health educator at several schools and community centers focusing on nutrition, physical education, self-esteem, drugs and alcohol, common medical illnesses, preventive medicine, reproductive health, and sexual health. Dr. Khan talked about the importance of eating right, managing stress levels and anxiety, and setting proper goals for yourselves. The audience was pleased with Dr. Khan’s informative session.

IMANA’s booth attracted many people and our volunteers engaged with numerous individuals to give a broad overview of what IMANA has accomplished over the past 50 years. Our volunteers also explained the essence of our medical relief activities.

IMANA likes to thank all the attendees who stopped by our booth and attended our session. We look forward for the upcoming 43rd Annual ICNA-MAS convention, which will be held in Baltimore, MD from March 30 – April 1, 2018.
